Another SCCAN member brought a well preserved collection of American magazines dedicated to #Commodore and #Amiga machines. He asked if anyone wanted them for free.

I grew up in Italy, where I had no access to any of these publications, so I decided to take them. Hopefully I'll find the time to read them one day...

Until then, I'll do my best to preserve the history printed on these yellowed pages ❤️

Ah, the game running on the PowerPC Amiga is Frogatto and Friends.

First time I try running a platform game on this board, and unfortunately scrolling was a bit sluggish in the highest quality modes. Perhaps this port doesn't render on the GPU, and the 32-bit PCI slot of the Sam440ep doesn't have enough bandwidth to transfer 60 high-resolution frames per second to the GPU.

Anyway... it runs and seems like a fun platform game!

Next to my rig, a #Commodore PC 20 and the super cute A500 Mini running a classic #AmigaOS Workbench image with MagicWB icons and various popular OS utilities from the era.

Meanwhile, #AmigaOS 3.3 for classic m68k #Amiga computers has been under continuous development since the release of OS 3.2 in 2021.

The A1222+ is a collaboration between A-Eon (makers of the AmigaOne X1000), Amedia Computer (an online distributor) and AmigaKit (makers of Enhancer Software for #AmigaOS4)

The boards are being manufactured by ACube Systems, makers of the Sam #PowerPC boards.

I notice the original #Amiga hardware reference manuals published by #Commodore.

I had the second edition of one of these; it's probably where I saw for the first time terms like DMA, bus cycle and memory bandwidth.

A tribute to the first #Amiga prototype presented by #Commodorr at CES.

This machine had unbelievable multimedia capabilities for 1984. But the word "multimedia" was invented several years later. #retrocomputing

I've always been a big #Amiga fan, but until now I never had a chance to see the largest Amiga show in the USA and, perhaps, in the entire world. #retrocomputing

I can't remember if it was translated in the French version. I think it was just the game and the manual (translated and distributed by Ubi Soft in France)
