    #JavaScript: un lenguaje de básico en el actual panorama de la programación » MuyLinux

    JavaScript surgió a mediados de los 90 como una tecnología para soportar páginas web dinámicas desde el lado del cliente (el navegador web), en contraposición a JSP, PHP y ASP, que trabajan a nivel del servidor (Apache, nginx, IIS… ). Según nos cuentan en Wikipedia, JavaScript es un lenguaje de programación a alto nivel, multiparadigma, orientado a objetos, imperativo, funcional y dirigido por eventos.

    La historia de JavaScript ha estado muy ligada a la de HTML y CSS, aunque con el paso de los años se lo ha visto implementado más allá de la web. De hecho, actualmente es utilizado tanto por GNOME como Qt, y tenemos tecnologías como Node.js que ejecutan JavaScript a nivel de servidor, por lo que en la actualidad no solo se usa para trabajar a nivel del cliente.

    @martaggcom [..]

    La comunidad reaccionó... y naturalmente, desarrolló #CSS más potente sobre #HTML5 ( y algo de #JavaScript , JQuery... aunque esto daría mucho que hablar también ).

    Los grandes se cansaron de pagar 'royalties' a Adobe, por unas simples animaciones gráficas que ya podían hacer de forma estándar, como dijimos en el anterior párrafo. Retiraron el soporte #Flahs en sus navegadores y tecnológias , progresivamente... dándole la estocada de muerte.

    Descanse en paz . (o allá se revuelva en su tumba )

    PD: por ello, como Micro$oft, ahora se suma Adobe a la #quintacolumna ... en su versión ... 'todo gratis' . (si bien, hay hay que decir, que cierto #opensource ... que mira por la excelencia del software, sin llegar al #status de #softwarelibre que nos empodera realmente ) https://quitter.es/attachment/1531666

    '30 seconds of code': minilecciones de #JavaScript para entender en 30 segundos o menos

    Está comenzando un nuevo año y muchos aprovechan para estrenar el calendario con nuevas metas. Suele ser más recomendable fijarte objetivos pequeños que se puedan completar más fácilmente, y así no abrumarte y sentir que no has logrado nada cuando hayan pasado unos meses.

    Es por eso que iniciativas como las de Codecademy y sus cursos gratis que puedes terminar en un día son tan atractivas. Algo similar pasa con 30 seconds of code, una web que ofrece pequeños segmentos de código en JavaScript que puedes entender en 30 segundos o menos.

    Obviamente no está orientada a novatos que no tengan ni idea sobre programación, no es un curso de JavaScript para principiantes, ni tampoco te enseña lo básico sobre este lenguaje.

    It is a very good argument to demand developers to stop building basically everything on #JavaScript
    It is not compatible with #Lynx and hard to deal with for visually impaired people.
    Yet it is very good for coinMiners...

    I don't buy the "the rise of ad-blockers led to the rise of (whatever bad thing is being discussed)" theories. They are almost always false.

    Ad-blocking didn't cause pop-ups and interstitials. Those things predated ad-blockers, and were caused by the abysmally low response rates (click-through) of online ads.

    Ad-blocking didn't cause the ads that expand to cover the content of a page or the dashed green underlines within a page's text that pop up small ads when you mouseover them. They are merely a continuation of the trend that started with pop-ups.

    Ad-blocking didn't cause tracking. Tracking was caused by the idea that "making ads relevant" would improve click-through rates. It happened independently of ad-blocking.

    Now, ad-blocking supposedly caused the rise of surreptitious #JavaScript cryptocoin miners? Does that also explain the existenence of mobile (and desktop) software that contains hidden cryptocurrency miners? Because the two are likely closely related.
