path to add to the url of its instance (if it follows peertube.social) in order to subscribe to the channel.

Following an account (in #Peertube) doesn't seem to be working yet.

To #fdroid users. #Mastalab 1.63.0 is available, you can now connect your #Peertube account(s).

- if you have difficulties for watching videos don't hesitate to change the mode in settings.
- you can follow/unfollow accounts and channels, rate videos and write/remove comments.

Upload feature should come at the end of the week.

The #PeerTube app that is on F-Droid is really coming along. It's got subscription support now!

I released in production the version of #Mastalab working with #Peertube.

There are fixes and improvements with the last beta release. You can pick up different modes for watching videos in settings (torrent, webview, old version).

What's new:
- Login with Peertube accounts
- Display five timelines (Subscriptions, Overview, Trending, Recently added, Local) with pagination
- Display accounts and their channels
- Follow / Unfollow accounts and channels
- Watch comments + write/remove comments
- Vote on videos (thumbs-up, thumbs-down, remove rating).

Keep it mind it's a beta release, and it will be seriously improved.

I am currently connected with my #Peertube account on #Mastalab.
I can easily switch between Mastodon and Peertube accounts.

So there is a new #PeerTube app on F-Droid. It's only got a few features but it's already quite useful. 🤓

I'm considering running a scholar/academic/research/education oriented #peertube instance, wondering how much interest there is in it on this bit of the #fediverse?

It seems very doable, but bit steep in investment cost (hardware). I think it should be doable with a running cost of ca 100-150,- per month for hosting and hardware. Assuming sponsored/donated admin-time.

@aral any chance you're on #peertube ?

A #HackerNews thread on #PeerTube raises the issue of videos URLs changing if the original instance goes down but the video is still available on another one. It would be great if videos in the PT network could be assigned some kind of persistent address (the video equivalent of a #DOI URL), so that as long as a video is on at least one instance, that address will point to it:
