If you're starting a brand new account on PeerTube (or on any Fediverse server), it's not a good idea to post lots of content before you have followers.

The only people who can see your posts on the Fediverse are those on your server, those on other servers who follow you, or those on other servers who see your post shared.

If you post all your best content up front on a brand new account with no followers, no one outside your server will be able to see it. Even if they follow you later, the posts you made before that will not be visible to them, because Fedi platforms don't backfill old posts on accounts you follow.

It's much better to gradually add videos (or other content) as your follower numbers grow.

You only need one follower from a server in order for everyone on that server to see your post. Even if you only have a dozen followers, that's up to 12 other servers that can see what you post.

Ich finde es großartig, nicht mehr auf Überwachungsplattformen wie YouTube oder Vimeo angewiesen zu sein.

Aber anders als im restlichen Fediverse werden viele PeerTube-Instanzen von menschenfeindlichen Inhalten überschwemmt. Wie können sich Instanzen dagegen wehren, ohne die Anmeldung zu schließen und aufs Föderieren zu verzichten?

Recordar que mañana miércoles 29 de Junio llevaremos a cabo una actualización de #Peertube, a las 18:00 (UTC+2).
Será una actualización menor, la 4.2.2. En el anterior anuncio dijimos la 4.2.1, pero justo hoy ha salido esta nueva.
Al ser una versión parche esperamos que la ventana de mantenimiento sea corta y nos lleve poco tiempo.

That way, you can also automatically mirror YouTube-Channels to a PeerTube Channel, from e.g. your laptop.

You don't have to own the instance, you just need an account on that instance.

Quedó funcionando el nuevo editor de video que provee PeerTube cuando se sube un archivo, espero. Los usuari@s que tienen cuentas avisen si algo no anda... pero debería. Además agregamos las resoluciones de 144p y 1080p en vistas de que tenemos más espacio de almacenamiento (redundante y cifrado), que está actualmente al 22% de su capacidad. Pasen y vean los que no conocen, hay muchas charlas, cursos, tutoriales y algunas pelotudeces como siempre... y recientemente se sumaron los compañeros del programa "El Opio", muy buen material se está juntando. https://tube.undernet.uy @bicivoladora @djpeluca #peertube #undernet
