Una cosa que me encanta de internet es perderme en las hemerotecas o en las webs de museos.
Hoy he descubierto que el Metropolitan Museum of Art de Nueva York tiene casi medio millón de imágenes disponibles en dominio público, listas para usar en cualquier proyecto, también comercial.
También tienen publicada en Github una API para la que no piden registro ni nada.

Due to the extreme emergency mode my life is going into, I can no longer afford to host or maintain VidCommons.org. In case you don't recall, VC is a PeerTube instance serving as a library of Public Domain and Creative Commons media for the fediverse, kind of like what Open Audio is for Funkwhale.
If anyone is interested in transferring ownership to continue running the project, please let me know in short order! Otherwise, the instance will be discontinued at the end of next week.

This really is the last straw. It's already unacceptable that an oligopoly of publishing corporations are making enormous unearned profits from their control of academic journals. But when they start actively sabotaging the integrity of the peer-reviewed literature, it's time for the editorial staff of every corporate-owned journal to quit en masse, and set up new #OpenAccess journals to continue their work as a #CreativeCommons, or even in the #PublicDomain.
