Otro incremento en la actividad solar -------------------------------- Space Weather Message Code: ALTXMF Serial Number: 310 Issue Time: 2023 May 09 2055 UTC
ALERT: X-Ray Flux exceeded M5 Threshold Reached: 2023 May 09 2051 UTC NOAA Scale: R2 - Moderate
Potential Impacts: Area of impact centered on sub-solar point on the sunlit side of Earth. Extent of blackout of HF (high frequency) radio communication dependent upon current X-ray Flux intensity.
#Minnesota Public Radio is leaving #Twitter, following the footsteps of #NPR and PBS, after such orgs were initially labeled earlier this week as “state-affiliated.”
Individual member donations are the largest source of funds for #MPR, augmented by other non-governmental sources.
About 7 percent of MPR’s funds come from government sources, "mostly in the form of program grants from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting."

Today marks the day I learnt that you can hear meteors, which explains why amateur radio and #radio astronomy communities united to create what's called GB3MBA: Meteor Beacon for #Astronomy.
Working on an old #zenith#antiqueradio for a friend. Model is #H845 - top of the line for its day in the 1960s. I haven't really dabbled with a #vintage#radio yet, but, watching and learning from lots of vids. So far, tested some #tubes and replaced 3 bad ones, though I might replace them all to ensure it continues working for a while since it's for a friend and I also bought a whole set of #NOStubes from Bob Dobush's site: www.findatube.com -- highly recommend for #vacuumtubes
