If #technology shapes your life, how you make money, what choices you (can) make, who you can communicate with, and how you can communicate with them... It makes #Google, #Apple, #Microsoft, and the like, all feudal land owners, and their customers literal serfs.
Rentiers, who cannot fathom a world beyond their corporate sharecrops..
I used to wonder why it's so hard to talk people off of Windows or Mac, but their whole life is held hostage by these companies. They don't even recognize it. 🤷
Oh, Zot! Nomadic Identity is Coming to ActivityPub: This could change the Fediverse forever
Years before there was Mastodon and even ActivityPub, there was Mike Macgirvin who created the Zot protocol, which Hubzilla runs on. One of Hubzilla’s most amazing features (apart from also integrating with Activity and the Fediverse, and having cha ...continues

Since there is a lot more followers following me since the July wave, here is yet another introduction.
My name is James known as chikorita157. I’m an Asian American who lives in the DMV area. I work as a Systems Administrator.
I run an anime blog, Chikorita157’s Anime Blog (https://chikorita157.com) since 2009 when I started college. I cover primarily yuri, school girl slice of life shows or shows with mostly/all female cast. Manga Time Kirara titles are my favorite, especially Machikado Mazoku, Gochuumon, Comic Girls, New Game, Bocchi the Rock.
Some Yuri titles that I like are Yagate Kimi ni Naru, Adachi to Shimamura, Watashi no Oshi wa Akuyaku Reijou, and more (the list is growing).
I also run Sakurajima, which is a 2nd attempt at creating an Japanese-media/Anime Blogger Mastodon Server, but it expanded in scope quite a bit.
Also, I am learning Japanese since 2012 (on and off), finished Genki, all the Intermediate grammar textbooks, and Wanikani. Hoping to past the JLPT N2, but if I don’t this year, there is always next year. I only really play video games and read manga in Japanese, but I’m expanding more into other Japanese media like JDrama.
Some of my favorite artists are: Minase Inori, TrySail, Uchida Maaya, Touyama Nao, Kitou Akari, and Ueda Reina. I do post seiyuu stuff every day.
Now there is a bunch of new followers, time for a new #introduction

An Israeli technology company has developed the means of delivering spyware via online ad networks. There’s no defense against the spyware and the Israeli government has given the company approval to sell the technology.
For now, take comfort in the fact that it’s a hefty $6.4 million price tag for a single ad infection.
