Please make it so that the website suggests less populated instances first and displays a big warning against fostering big instances. This avoids what #WhatsApp and #Google did (see https://libreplanet.org/wiki/XMPP ), where both started as #XMPP providers but once they became big enough, they closed doors.

@0 @rmdes @kranfahrer Yes, #XMPP already allows making aliases, I think @fsf has a forwarding of such for Associate Members, although I'm not one of them, i just heard about it.

@gustavo22soares Legal, é bom dar uma olhada em https://libreplanet.org/wiki/XMPP.pt para algumas recomendações sobre como procurar por servidores de salas com bons recursos/extensões #XMPP (chamadas de #XEP e geralmente seguidas por um número e uma descrição curta). Uma das referências dentro do link menciona que existem #XEPs que facilitam muito o trabalho de procurar por isso tudo, pois são apelidadas de "agrupadoras" e a mesma referência já lista alguns dos fornecedores que estão em conformidade.

@olivia Além do xmpp:papogeral@conference.jabber-br.org (que não sei de quem é), recentemente (antes de conhecer o pesquisador de salas múlti-servidores https://search.jabber.network/rooms/1 ) criei um grupo #XMPP ( xmpp:geral@chat.libreplanetbr.org ) . Ambos são novos e vez por outra as pessoas conversam por lá, mas como o grupo é novo, ainda não tem muito movimento. Todavia, temos que começar com algo. Nada fica popular da noite para o dia.

@gustavo22soares Legal! :D Ainda bem que #XMPP tem vários fornecedores e as pessoas podem ter conta em servidores diferentes do da sala e mesmo assim podem entrar e participar nela de forma igual.

@crispr Some #OMEMO implementations ease the first communication with a contact using it, in that the client blindly trusts the first key. Besides, contrary to #OTR, #OMEMO is a #XEP ( has official registry as #XMPP extension, and currently is experimental), as seen in https://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0384.html .

@karl @Cochise @gustavo22soares @gbrlpires @vitoranguia Já eu trabalho mais com #XMPP tanto por ser um dos únicos que é padrão internacional de comunicação, ser extensível (via #XEP, que usa processo de aprovação comunitário), ter #XEPs de recomendação quase todos os anos desde 2018, e pelo #XMPP ser recomendado pelo #ePING 2018 do #Brasil / #Brazil. Mais argumentos estão em https://libreplanet.org/wiki/XMPP.pt . Todavia, posso usar #IRC, #WebRTC (via qualquer instância #Jitsi) ou #GNU #Jami / #GNUJami .

@meiotexto Uma coisa importante de notar é que #WhatsApp era #XMPP ( https://libreplanet.org/wiki/XMPP.pt ), mas o efeito em rede de várias pessoas recomendando apenas uma instância fez eles fecharem a porta, por isso advoco que as pessoas criem contas escolhendo de listas de servidores (vide referência anterior para as listas).
