yes, i agree mid finger based trackballs are ergonomically better.
But i like to also point out, it doesn't mean thumb trackball is absolutely no good. For casual use, or use with care, it can be ok.
e.g. like some people use normal pc keyboard even it's bad ergonomically. Depends hour of use per day and if used with care. :)
