I wrote up some Opinions™ about iterating on the #ActivityPub protocol and how we can continue improving it without sacrificing compatibility or fracturing the network: https://jeremydormitzer.com/blog/activitypub-good-enough-for-jazz/. Comments welcome here or on the post.

Jeremy (jdormit@mastodon.technology)'s status on Thursday, 08-Nov-2018 14:13:08 UTC Jeremy #Pterotype version 1.2.6 released! This release adds the ability to set a custom Fediverse name, description, and icon separate from the WordPress site identity. Up next: custom Fediverse username (so that not all Pterotype sites are @blog@<site name>).
As always, the roadmap is publicly viewable at https://getpterotype.com/roadmap.

Jeremy (jdormit@mastodon.technology)'s status on Thursday, 18-Oct-2018 22:55:43 UTC Jeremy Current #Pterotype roadmap:
1. Iron out federation kinks - make sure posts are displayed properly, searchable from the Mastodon search bar, etc.
2. Make the Actor name configurable so not everyone's blog is called @blog 🤓
3. Write a blog post? Something about content creation and business and how to not be shitty internet citizen, which has been influencing how I think about Pterotype and ActivityPub
4. Onboard beta users and get feedback
5. Synchronize WordPress comments with Mastodon replies -

Jeremy (jdormit@mastodon.technology)'s status on Sunday, 23-Sep-2018 04:08:36 UTC Jeremy I've settled on a name for my #ActivityPub #WordPress plugin - #Pterotype! It's an early precursor to the typewriter, which seemed appropriate for WordPress.
Honestly though, the main reason I chose it is now it can have a cute Pterodactyl logo. That will go nicely with Mastodon's prehistoric theme!
Now I just need to find someone who can draw a cute pterodactyl...

Jeremy (jdormit@mastodon.technology)'s status on Saturday, 18-Aug-2018 13:34:56 UTC Jeremy I've been thinking about an #ActivityPub implementation for #Wordpress. My idea supports:
- publishing blog posts and comments to ActivityPub-compliant servers, letting users follow/reply to/share/like these via other compliant services
- @-mentioning other ActivtyPub actors (e.g. Mastodon users) in posts and comments
- commenting on posts from Mastodon or other ActivityPub servicesI've written up some technical notes at https://gist.github.com/jdormit/1049324b95e5096be20ee9ad1d749104. I'd appreciate feedback, so please comment there!

Jeremy (jdormit@mastodon.technology)'s status on Tuesday, 07-Aug-2018 14:16:54 UTC Jeremy I'm thinking about building an #ActivityPub plugin for #Wordpress. Does anyone know if something like that already exists? Is anyone else interested in that?
