Welcome to mastodon everyone! I love seeing all this art posted. But we do have some folks on here who don't see well, and they really appreciate it if you add a description to your images. Just briefly what you're showing people, so that they have some idea what they're looking for.

I know sometimes it seems like too much work, and if you can't you can't. But it does make your work accessible to more people, not least because more of us will boost it.

@albin I agree. I think people do not control power nor decision-making processes. Power has been kidnapped by a bunch of corporations that have no interest in engaging in an environmental discussion.

@jaranta nice piece. I think the translation from technical English to spoken English is the key. The fact that one does not read a presentation does not mean it will be good or engaging. Some people memorize complicated sentences and just repeat them while looking at the screen :blobpats:

@jorge Two years ago, the University of Hawai'i published a paper on the future regularity of #HeatWaves. They projected, that by 2100 about a third of the world's population will be exposed to unbearable heat for most of the year (red areas: > 200 days/year with possibly > 40ยฐC). People in these areas are amongst the most vulnerable and the effects on agriculture... the only way to cope with this is by helping nature adapt to it and try making a living of what remains... or #ActNow, of course.

"The World Health Organization predicts that, starting in 2030, there will be an additional 250,000 annual deaths around the world because of climate change, caused by growing malnourishment, malaria, diarrhea and heat stress. Over a half-billion people live in the Middle East and North Africa today, regions that Tanarhte warns could ultimately become uninhabitable".
