Finally got a nice 15" VGA monitor for my retro battlestation.

Specs: 486DX, 33mhz, 64mb(!) RAM, integrated VGA/IDE/FDC, SB16, 32gb CompactFlash SSD, 1.44mb & 1.2mb floppy drives. Made in 1992.

A normal machine of this era would have had 8mb RAM, tops, but this thing takes up to 64mb, so why not? I also maxed the L2 cache and VRAM, which IIRC is 128kb/1mb, respectively.

@dosnostalgic This is a clone of a fairly obscure 1982 arcade game called Anteater. It's good, and got some newfound appreciation in the last five years or so, but I'm surprised it made enough impact to warrant a clone back then.

@dosnostalgic I played the original sooooo much. And I always thought it was supposed to be a Dig-Dug clone, until I realized it was a Mr. Do! clone.

Don't much care for the remake.

After two years of living in mostly isolation, my older daughter is having a hard time with losing her social group. She's 15, queer, and artistic.

We'd like to get her connected with some new folks, but I'm reluctant to throw her into the meat grinder of mainstream social media.

Is there a Mastodon instance she'd fit in on?

@guofu It is two line. I have the tape drive/line printer, but haven't done anything with them. I poked around in BASIC a bit, but mostly use it as a calculator.
