After fiddling a bit with some home-made scripts and Aegisub, I managed to create a relatively easy workflow to make lyric videos (needs Linux, command-line, and editing text files, so it's totally for nerds). Anyway, the results are uploaded to Vimeo now:

I don't remember if I have mentioned Rosalía here, but I bought her album "El mal querer" and it's pretty cool. It's... I don't know, kind of "modern flamenco"? There are influences of trap and other modern genres. "El mal querer" is actually a concept album about an abusive relationship, based on a book from the 14th century (!).

@jartigag @sirikon it's surely different from what most of us are used to. One of the "tricks" is to think of the functionality as the tests, not as the code. Every time you have an idea for something that needs to be added or fixed, you write a comment with a description of a new test.

So instead of the code being important, it's the functionality you have decided (implicitly by which tests you have written) that becomes important. That aspect is really nice!

Does that make sense?

However, the videos scratch the surface (on purpose): they are meant for people to have an intuitive understanding of music and get excited about it, not to really learn music theory.

Did you see my talk? It was meant to be at the same level, though. I seem to recall that the stuff at http://mugglinworks.com/chordmaps/ was fairly good, maybe that's the level you're looking for.

What kinds of things do you seek to understand?

Bah, still haven't been able to fix the old Android app build problems. Shouldn't it be easy to just specify the old SDK or whatever, and have it compile?

It's called "How Music Works" and it explains very basic music concepts (notes, scales, chords) and how they relate to each other.

TAKE IT FOR WHAT IT IS, though: a random dude explaining some basic music stuff to some colleagues. I'm not _at all_ a music theory expert, and there are probably mistakes in there!

@chemaalonso Los números «reales» son difíciles de obtener, así que las formas «inocentes» de contar son normalmente las que se usan. Otra cosa, ¿crees que es diferente con redes no abiertas/libres? :-) (yo trabajé en un sitio similar hace años)

@jordila @ekaitz_zarraga una cosa que recomiendo es aprender JavaScript «bien». Mucha gente no aprende JavaScript, y simplemente trata de adivinar qué hará la sintaxis, comparando con otros lenguajes. Y eso sólo funciona hasta cierto punto con JavaScript: esa técnica da algunos disgustos desagradables.
