People like to say "email leaks metadata" but consider this: Delta apps do not store group metadata (memberlists, group names, avatars, keys) on servers. By comparison,

- #matrix stores group metadata unencrypted on home servers and replicates it to other federated matrix servers

- #signal stores encrypted group metadata on Amazon cloud servers

#deltachat uses a #p2p messaging model for encrypted group metadata where servers function as transport only.

@Logical_Error @andrewg @liw unused nine.testrun.org will be auto-deleted soon (eg https://github.com/deltachat/chatmail/pull/327 ) but note that today an e-mail address is only a single row in a sqlite table that contains e-mail address, hashed-password, last-login columns. Messages are auto-removed (after 7-20 days, depending on server) so there really doesn't remain much data even today.

Attached: first a chat from deltafans with the hispanohablantes community ... where someone from the Spanish side invites deltafans folks to join it.

Second is the Spanish community chatlist where lots of chatting is going on ... Also includes the chat with the deltafans community.

Both are independently running and can adress/ be adressed with a messenger UX you already know.

We were very happy when we heart that the XMPP-based https://cheogram.com/ experimentally adopted https://webxdc.org -- so that the same web apps run on Cheogram and Delta Chat. We started communicating with Cheogram's main dev through matterbridge in a group chat about upcoming webxdc improvements ... #interoperability ftw :)
