it is common in our time to think of religion as something that you just accept for what it is. i'd like you to think about religious ideas as things that are constantly in contention and changing. it is a battleground of different ideas that exist not only in relation to its own systems of thought but also to other human realms - the political, the economical, the cultural, the ethical.

in hindsight google dropping the "dont be evil" motto should have been more of a red flag
