:-/ I almost did a "well, actually..." in a reply to a blog post. Stopped myself, because I felt I was rude to burst in like that. The article is fine, I just felt like people need to know that NOT all #opensourcesoftware is #freesoftware or #libresoftware or #freeasinfreedom

Take Unity engine for example. Parts of it are open source, but other parts are not. The license is not free as you're not permitted to modify the code, and the source code is a "trade secret" that can't be freely distributed/shared.

The source is open, but the license is not free.

"portions of the Unity Software, including but not limited to the source code [...] are confidential and constitute or contain trade secrets of Unity and its licensors. "
