Our project depends on donations for our lead developer to pay basic living expenses and survive. Despite the increasing popularity of AzuraCast as a mainstream option for web radio stations and tens of thousands of active stations using it today, our donation numbers have remained very low.

One of the hardest things to do when starting a new radio station is to build an audience. AzuraCast has lots of ways to connect with station directories, but not everyone knows about how to set them all up or where to look. That's why we've created a new guide dedicated to Promoting Your Station, with information about all of our supported directories and instructions on how to set them up in AzuraCast: https://docs.azuracast.com/en/user-guide/promoting-your-station

Hi everyone! I'm Buster Neece, creator and lead maintainer of AzuraCast. It's hard to believe I've been working on this labor of love for over seven years now. In that time, I've seen this project go from a small hobby endeavor to a sincere contender in the web radio space up alongside its commercial counterparts. It's been amazing to see!

As of today, we have completed our relicensing of our main codebase from Apache 2.0 to the Affero GPL 3.0. This new license allows all the same uses by our station operators and resellers, but requires that any changes to our code be shared with the world the way our code is.

This weekend, we had a great opportunity to present at @LiquidsoapMedia's annual LiquidShop event, where we talk about how we use Liquidsoap and our role in open-source, and our presentation is now available in video form here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rApEODLKY0w

AzuraCast has no plans of stopping development in the near future. We're still coding even today!
