does anybody out there remember a game, probably classic DOS era, where you're like a little astronaut guy moving geometric pieces into place on a board to clear them tetris style (or something like that)?

the network is the computer → no computer is a sufficiently closed system to be safe without constant updates, or useful without constant interaction with other computers → stability is no longer a property computer systems may possess → nothing fucking works
there's this implicit idea that if you want stability out of computers & software, you're some sort of reactionary and deeply boring to boot, which is much like the idea that if you don't want buildings to catch fire and collapse on people you're just trying to stifle the field of architecture and oppress the noble spirit of the more exuberant sort of builder.
