We worked with #Midjourney AI to create some stunning 16:9 desktop wallpapers inspired by the Thunderbird logo. (Plus, one inspired by our friends at Firefox too.)
And now they're yours. If you love them, share them!

This week, we begin the serious work on Thunderbird 114. There's a lot to plan, define, and schedule for a year that will bring drastic UI and UX changes.
A lot of the changes may upset some users and amaze others.
Every step of the way, we want to be transparent.
You'll see early mock-ups. You'll hear about plans and proposed solutions throughout the development process.
We'll be writing plenty of documentation and support articles to help users w/ the transition...
We understand that certain add-ons are invaluable to your workflow. So, to help you decide the best time to update your version of Thunderbird, here's a simple way to discover if the extensions you currently have installed are compatible with #Thunderbird102.
Just to set expectations, we anticipate rolling out Thunderbird 102 by early evening, Eastern Standard Time. (This means it will be very late for our European friends.)
Speaking of K-9 Mail, if you're interested in the Beta but do NOT want to use the Google Play store, just visit the GitHub repo and sideload the APK! https://github.com/thundernest/k-9/releases
Thank you for helping the Thunderbird community test the 102 Beta! We've set up a TopicBox forum to discuss your experience or ask questions. Feel free to post there or just browse: https://thunderbird.topicbox.com/groups/beta
QUESTION: "Hey Thunderbird, do you plan on integrating Google Contacts? Currently, I need to use the CardBook plugin."
ANSWER: Connecting to the Google address book through CardDAV is already possible in Thunderbird 91. In the "New Address Book" dropdown, “Add CardDAV Address Book” will guide you through it!
QUESTION: Will you put more effort into feature parity with MS Outlook so Thunderbird can connect out of the box to exchange servers without IMAP support?
ANSWER (via @ryanleesipes, Thunderbird Product Manager): This is a complicated topic. We are looking into the best way to better support Exchange/O365 users. The problem is that Exchange/ActiveSync is not an open standard and thus, even if we implemented support, Microsoft can arbitrarily break us at any time.
