Last week, a group of Network Team folks, including Beth, Gabi, Ian, @sporksmith, Mike, and @nickm, participated in @torproject's Documentation Hackweek! As part of their work, they managed to drastically shine up a lot of our #Tor protocol specifications and proposals! 🥳

We now have a nicely looking homepage for our specifications and proposals running at https://spec.torproject.org/ 😍

Yesterday, the Network Team at @torproject released #Tor version 0.4.8.9.

This release contains a fix for a remote assertion crash bug that we consider high severity.

We strongly encourage all Onion Services operators and projects bundling Tor to enable Onion Services integration in their applications to upgrade to Tor 0.4.8.9.

My team at @torproject is hiring! We are looking for a Software Engineer with experience in the C programming language to work on Onion Services.

Ideally, you have a systems engineering mindset, a good understanding of network performance, software profiling, and writing code in a security-sensitive context. You'll get a mentor who will work with you to give you a better understanding of the Tor ecosystem.
