Reddit's CEO is attacking Reddit moderators, calling them spoiled "landed gentry" who are messing up his service ...

... when in reality Reddit mods do over $3.4 million in free labor annually, as per a recent scholarly estimate

And that's a lowballed, conservative estimate

An appreciation of Eunice Foote, the suffragist and scientist who — way back in 1856 — conducted the first known experiment to demonstrate that CO2 was a heat-trapping gas …

…. and who, when writing up a paper of her findings, theorized that if the Earth’s atmosphere accumulated lots of CO2, the planet would warm up also

Hey folks! If you're posting an image or a video, Mastodon lets you include "alt text" -- i.e. a short description of what's in the picture or video

This is very good for usability! Anyone using a screenreader knows what's going on
