As an angel investor and generally self aware human I am seeing real, legitimate and meaningful growth and promise in the fediverse.

More-so than ANY other sector.

As I am waiting to become properly caffeinated to face the day I exclaim groggily, "Crap! we've gotten lots of new signups on Newsie. Looks like a wave is building."

The issue we had with images today really ticked me off.

We're going to take some to steps on Newsie.social to mirror/replicate asset (images, video, audio, etc) storage so that if one provider goes down, as it did today that the other will still be live and available.

I have become anecdotally aware of several (smaller) mastodon instances that are considering shutting down because they cannot afford their server bills.
