From my 1993 journal, 30 years ago this week: Implementing the Final Battle with Jaffar in POP2: The Shadow and the Flame, and finding inspiration for The Last Express in Rebecca West's Black Lamb and Grey Falcon. In homage, we named a character after her: the young Englishwoman and budding writer (who also keeps a journal), traveling with her French friend Sophie.

So... I've got my 1993 "Making of The Last Express" journal all cued up to post, 30 years later. It picks up where The Making of POP ends (January 10, 1993).
