    Belief in conspiracy theories appears to be driven by motives that can be characterized as epistemic (understanding one’s environment), existential (being safe and in control of one’s environment), and social (maintaining a positive image of the self and the social group).

    In their review they cover evidence showing that factors like uncertainty about the world, lack of control or social exclusion (factors affecting epistemic, existential and social motives respectively) are all associated with increased susceptibility to conspiracy theory beliefs.

    But also they show, paradoxically, that exposure to conspiracy theories doesn’t salve these needs.

    Pido ayuda para resolver un problemilla. Especialmente a las frikis de #python y a las usuarias de gestores de ventanas.

    Tengo una aplicación escrita en #python que da el resultado (una cadena de texto) volcándolo en el portapapeles del sistema. Los comandos son:

    import gtk
    clip = gtk.Clipboard()
    clip.set_text(generated)
    clip.store()

    Cuando uso el escritorio (unity) funciona. Con gestor de ventanas (openbox) no deja nada en el pp. En ambos casos la ap. de pp. es glipper.

    ¿Alguna pista?

    @pixelfed @julianoe @hellcp @marrkus @loogah OK, I thought about this happening (didn't really expect to be one of the firsts tbh, but daydreaming is free) and I've been thinking in making a donation to the #Pixelfed project and also to @mmn for quitter.es for his huge support on GNU social. So I think it's fair for you to keep half of the money and Mikael the other half (and we all want more @makitadoge photos so... :P)
