so once xbot and my elixir/rust implementation of git-ssb are done i can get back to developing a really sexy functional reactive ui toolkit for elixir/BEAM based on enlightenment foundation libraries

THEN i can finally get to building #musicwithfriends which is what this whole thing was about in the first place

well at least i can start, i also have to build keychain and add ipfs integration to barrel, but like i'm getting close is the point

i'm putting the iu stuff on hold while i sort out sbot and git-ssb since its been giving me trouble and preventing us from collaborating over ssb

i love the design and protocol of ssb, but the implementation is kinda janky and the stuff i want to build is going to lean on this shit pretty heavy so it has to be solid

i'm making a scuttlebot implementation in elixir!

i'm looking at barreldb (an otp app-ified fork of couchdb) as the storage backend so you can do efficient queries on the stored log data. my goal is to beat flume (the db that sbot uses), which shouldn't be too hard for couch/barrel to do as long as the correct indexes are in place.

obv if you want to do more complicated shit you can go fuck yourself, er.. i mean write a distributed map/reduce query in erlang
