Element really just told us if we don't like their direction of selling services to cops we should use another app. This is seriously the direction they settled on.

I discovered today that @prologic has added #ActivityPub support to their twtxt server software https://yarn.social and its largest instance https://twtxt.net essentially bridging the #fediverse and twtxt networks together.

If you are unfamiliar with #twtxt, it is a different take on decentralized microblogging that has been around for many years, and it is quite interesting to see it now bridged between this side and that one!

Bueno, como decir esto... sinceramente el evento fue un exitazo tremendo!!! Muchas gracias a todas las personas que se arrimaron, las que presentaron, las que hicieron preguntas y las que colaboraron de una manera u otra! Hubo instalaciones, sonó música libre, hubo charlas donde se respiró terrible aire de militancia y de compromiso con las causas del software libre, cultura libre y derechos digitales. La agenda de tiempos se respetó de principio a fin y todas las charlas demostraron el nivel de contenidos manejados, que nos enorgullece como organización que nos tocó ser este año. Esperamos haber tendido puentes y generado vínculos (no hipervínculos) los otros vínculos, los humanos que tanto refuerzan nuestra militancia y nuestro accionar en comunidad. The more distributed people are the more resilient this entire network is against corporate interests, like what happened to Twitter. If you moved here from post-Musk-Twitter, it's honestly in your own interest to not just stay on mastodon.social.

A smaller server also means you can get in touch with the people who run it and have an active influence on the overall vibe there.
