The http://matrix.org homeserver has been struggling with load over the last 24h (thanks perhaps to Slack for driving users our way: https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2024/05/slack-defends-default-opt-in-for-ai-training-on-chats-amid-user-outrage/) - we're working on fixing performance. Folks on other homeservers are of course unaffected. Apologies for the inconvenience. https://status.matrix.org is tracking the incident.

MAINTENANCE: We will be taking down the http://matrix.org homeserver at 09:30 UTC tomorrow (2022-11-01) to perform a database upgrade.

The downtime could be up to an hour, but probably much less.

Other servers will, of course, be unaffected.

We released Synapse 1.47.1, a security update based on last week's release of Synapse, patching a high severity issue affecting Synapse installations 1.47.0 and earlier using the media repository.
