    Tal vez el camino, para educar a la gente, va por este lado, el de mencionar las ventajas prácticas de los servicios federados (y libres).
    Lo digo porque, lamentablemente, intentar hacer cambiar de opinión desde la falta de ética de los grandes monstruos digitales, no parece avanzar mucho

    El otro día conversaba con una amiga no informática y ella me contaba lo maravillo del WhatsApp y lo útil que resulta.

    En este imaginario la gente piensa que sin WhatsApp es casi imposible chatear.

    Yo del otro lado que he implementado servicios de Linux durante 13 años se que implementar sevidores de chat no es nada del otro mundo, lo he hecho. Federando estos servicios, la falla en un proveedor no afacta a todos.

    Pero bueno.... me alegro que se haya caído WhatsApp.

    So Telegram can now support 200,000 group members and I'm like..

    .. I wouldn't want that on a smartphone UX. Or even their PC client, given the UI design involved. :blobnervous:

    Only workable scenario is if it's for unidirectional news publications and honestly we're better off using a mailing list at that point.

    I have never visited a website with ads. I will boycott every company that tries to make me look at ads and you should too. Why aren't you? That's why these companies thrive is because people like you don't boycott them. Only go to ad free sites like me.

    The 2.7.0 #Mastodon update added a site directory feature. You can see it by adding "/explore" to your instance's address, for example:

    https://mastodon.social/explore

    It's opt-in, so it only lists people who have asked to be listed.

    You can add yourself like this:

    1. Go to Settings
    2. Go to Edit Profile
    3. Add hashtags to your profile bio, to let people know what kind of stuff you like to talk about
    4. Tick the "List This Account on the directory" box
    5. Click on "save changes"

    @victorhck cuando lo haga Wordpress, drupal y compañía será lo máximo. Por lo pronto hay dos plugins en wordpress desarrollándose para poder compartir contenidos en el fediverso.
