My dad ran his own computer & software company in the 1980's and 1990's - when I asked him about 'Free (as in Freedom) Software - he did not know anything about it. To that day he had never heard of the Free Software Movement or of the Free Software Foundation ....

#shareware was probably the worst thing to ever happen to #software.
Because it very subtly planted, in very young & impressionable minds (such as mine), the idea that there is software which you are allowed to share, and software that you are NOT allowed to share. Because we did not know any better, we accepted that as normal.

Everybody in South Africa hates #Mugabe , most notably the upper middle class white people

And that in itself should really be all I need to know about that question, I s'pose

It may not be a #coup , after all. But it certainly is unclear right now just what is actually going on.

#Mugabe is #authoritarian in many ways and South Africans have always had nothing but bad things to say about him - especially as the economic situation there declined. But I have always kept my mouth closed, I always had my doubts. As my awareness of the "real" world increased, I always wondered about #Mugabe .
So hard to get #truth nowadays
