Michael Vogel (heluecht@pirati.ca)'s status on Monday, 30-Jan-2017 09:13:33 UTC Michael Vogel I think we should always support the GNU Social API - but it seems like a good idea to have a new API as well. Having this ActivityStreams thing as server-to-server and server-to-client sounds like a good idea.
I would like to start with pump.io compatibility since there are clients for it. -

Michael Vogel (heluecht@pirati.ca)'s status on Friday, 23-Dec-2016 16:06:31 UTC Michael Vogel I would like to have Friendica react a little bit like Tumblr does. That means: Frio as an upcoming standard theme - and maybe not much variety in it (despite some color stuff - like Twitter is doing).
Additionally a blog view that is mostly presented to foreigners. This should look like a regular blog with the very limited abilities (Maybe with links to self created webpages). I guess this is currently a missing thing inside of Friendica.
Also we have to help with the first steps. We need a much better way for newcomers to find interesting content. This must be only one click away. pump.io suffered from this - while on GNU Social you always have the public feed where you can directly interact with. As a preparation I did the changes to the community page and to the distributed global directory.
We need someone who cares about the directory server. We need a reliable service where people can chose their new public server if they don't want to create an own.
