The EU's fine for google is something like 5 billion USD. While that is a number which staggers my mind, many tech sites have pointed out thats the kind of profit they generate in about two weeks over in Alphabet land.

This underlying problem needs to become a priority. Either pressuring #github to go free software or getting free software to go elsewhere.
Github becoming synonymous with open source just muddies free software waters more.
Free Software needs free tools.

What commercial applications are left in that code could possibly impact their bottom line? We're talking about code older than Classic Mac OS.
I know it is remarkable in the sense that other people like Microsoft are clutching onto the code for Windows 1.0 still at this late hour in computer history.
But it another sense it shows remarkable cowardice and lack of vision.
