    The Chinese military "will not sit idly by" if the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, visits Taiwan, the Asian giant's Ministry of Defense warned on Tuesday.

    Likewise, the spokesman indicated that Beijing demands that Washington "take practical measures to fulfill its commitment not to support 'Taiwan independence', and not organize Pelosi's visit" to the island.
