Game Theory: Flatpak isolation is needed only because GUIs are more prone to side effects (memory leaks, many more dependencies, a lot more of power, intended to be used by less skilled people) than terminal tools

@lue If you need stuff like compilers you'll have a harder time though, Flatpak/Snap are only intended for GUI applications. May I suggest :voidlinux: ? Totally not biased :awoo_grill:

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyy surprise! #lifeHack is back, everyone! ikorite :woah:
This one is ffmpeg-related: now that HDR is starting to become more relevant, there's this nice thingie where you can convert it into SDR so it doesn't look like shit on older displays: https://stevens.li/guides/video/converting-hdr-to-sdr-with-ffmpeg/

USA Today made a version of their site for EU visitors that's compliant with the GDPR
Without:
- ads
- tracking
- personalization
- javascriptIt seriously makes me want to check that site from time to time for news. If their point was "see how bad it would be if we didn't do all this stuff?" it's doing the opposite of what it wants because yes, I love this website, that's how I want it and every other one to be like

One reason I started Builder was because of how painful it was to work on VMware's Gtk-based products back in the day. So having gnome-boxes build in Builder to run a VM with a self-contained SDK powered by Flatpak is a huge success on that front.

The XA1 issue was common, BTW, you can look it up on Sony forums and XDA. And that only adds up to issues such as their obsession with DRM and the bad reputation with previous phones.
And now I don't think I can afford myself a Sony anymore. Not worth that extra saving effort. Even if I still love and die for them. lmao.
Help, I can't think of a single good phone manufacturer. bq if anything, but that's Spain-only and not sure if I'll have such a good experience.

I gave Sony a chance last year with an XA1. Paid full price for it even while knowing I could've got it from Amazon for cheaper just to have it on time.
It was excellent.
Until the right side of the screen stopped working.
And tech support was... quite a thing I've never seen before. Both the company SonyMC partnered with in Spain for tech support and the company I bought the phone from. Absolute garbage... as usual, sadly.

I swear I'm in love with the XZ2, both the design and the marketing
If Sony wasn't a company with such a shitty reputation it'd be quite a massive thing (outside Japan) https://youtu.be/GwZW8RWuEic
