Maybe I'll have managed to get a sustainable life model where I can allow myself to go fully experimental as an artist. As not many issues would be left in the world, I would have a great chance for exploring myself, others and the world through new and old means. I would try to bring joy, for sure, as well as expose what we all had to go through to reach it. Or maybe if there are still issues, I could get into politics/philosophy and cross my fingers. Or guess I'll die. Who knows.

But then, it makes me think about that eventual end. A time where everything is completely fine. Where hardware stops getting obsolete or broken, software won't crash, be vulnerable or fight against the user, and we won't have to redo from scratch anymore. Where we have all of the tools we could ever ask for, everybody has agreed on it, and there's nothing else to do.

How will my closure be, what will I do next?

I ended up changing mindset, and I wanted to create beauty through code and not with mere aesthetics and gimmicks. I wanted to express my love for the world by making the code it deserves. As I've been further learning, I see clearer how much such beauty is needed at all levels. But also how hard it will be to achieve such a thing, if even feasible.

I came looking to express my excitement for new ideas and tools that can be enjoyable and helpful. Building my own machines and OSes, understanding all of it, making it a pleasant and envolving experience. But computers aren't a goal, they're means of doing stuff - and not that good at it, despite decades of overwhelming progress, or rather because of it. And now all computers look quite pleasing, but internally they're just messes that cost too much pain by trying to leverage other pains.

Reading _why's CLOSURE, seeing how he's stressed up by computing brings back to my head the idea that I may end up being a programmer not as a goal, but as a means to make society stop caring about computers. How everything is rough and error-prone, how vast and complex every detail can get, how hard it can be to lurk for answers, how all of your hard work can be quickly thrown in a matter of months. How I've switched for wanting to create my own tiny software worlds to just try to fix all of it

tbh even if they are (at the very least, public domain software can be fully relicensed as anything), I don't see the point. Just make it public domain.

Just noticed the Nuklear GUI is licensed both as MIT and as Unlicense (public domain).

@wasamasa I've indeed considered Tcl/Tk, but I doubt it'll be flexible enough for what I want to do.

@BrightOne Honestly I would use GTK+ but it just feels like BLOAT that I would only use for prototyping, and even then I'm not sure how easy it would make things for me.

Qt is also an option but... uhh... I don't think it would be much different.
