it's literally XML but with JSON syntax...?
@aeTIos There used to be an issue where repos would break from time to time (the infamous shlibs), but that was fixed last Monday. So yeah, the package manager still has a few quirks, but most of it is fine.
Finally, the wiki isn't as amazing as that from Arch, but is decent enough. In particular, you may have to stop a bit and read twice while installing with LVM + LUKS.
@aeTIos
Regardless, Void may not be as complete as e.g. Arch with AUR but should easily satisfy most people. On Musl in particular, you can also bring some missing/broken apps via Flatpak.
Xbps' commands are a bit odd. For instance, updating is done with "xbps-install -Su", and I don't really know of an easy way to uninstall packages along others which depend on it (am I really retarded or is that missing???). Also I had an issue where I could no longer do xbps-query - that can be fixed.
@aeTIos First off, think whenever you want to choose GNU or Musl. Their binaries are incompatible to each other, and you can't make up your mind after installing unless you're willing to format it all and start over. Mainly, Musl is lighter and more sane, but still with very low adoption (particularly, on desktops) and you'll see there's a few broken packages (in my case, Xwayland not working on Nouveau) and others which are just not available.
