people are confusing shitposting en masse, as a form of culture jamming. with "we made that".

a lot of shitposting as a practice and social pattern came out of really toxic (and right wing) corners of the internet. being acculturated to that, or having grown up around it without realizing that it was a vector for fascism and adjacent ideologies, is a *huge* honeypot/sinkhole that can be manipulated by abusers.
