@benages @Shrigglepuss it is a real pitty, seems that they got the ideas right, and looking now that KaiOS is really taking off, which is propietary... feels wrong.

How long are we going to stand spying and propietary OSes. Maybe with KaiOS buzz it will revive somehow.

Is Boot2Gecko really dead and only living on propietary KaiOS? Would be really great to have FirefoxOS around...

Por que yo me lo he leído y siento no coincidir contigo, no lo veo de forma tan binaria. En lo demás estamos de acuerdo.

El problema es mucho más que Android/iPhone. Para mi es más importante y supongo que para tí es empezar a dejar de dar tus datos a estos monstruos.

Cambiar los hábitos es lo más difícil, y algo más profundo y continuo que elegir el veneno para tu smartphone.

Es una pena lo de Android, pero hay pocas compañías peores en este momento que Facebook y Google en cuanto a la privacidad. El abuso de la API de Facebook en Android es algo a lo que no pueden llegar tan lejos en Apple por que está más cerrado es un hecho. Nos queda mucho por andar con plasma-mobile, ubports, etc hasta volver a tener un SO libre para smartphones. Ahora queda la travesía del desierto.

En cuanto a WhatsApp se ha quedado corta.

@colegota @victorhck @tagomago a ver, en el tema de Apple es realmente penoso, lo tiene que decir alguien que no lo usará salvo en caso extremo, pero tiene razón.

A la gente no técnica no les puedes pedir que usen el Android sin el tema propietario (que ya pesa más que el SO), que el Signal se bajen el APK de la web por que no está en F-Droid, que montones de apps no funcionan sin el espionaje, etc. Que se enchufen DNS66 o rooteen y pongan Adaway para luchar contra todos los bichos. Etc.

@johnribbon actually a good idea, after they dropped the DART underground... maybe there is still some hope about it?

I originally come from a country building high speed trains with no occupation, that's one thing, but this "there is no money" regarding basic public transport infrastructure is mind boggling. Can you imagine the city without the Pearse-Connolly rail bypass? Can we imagine all the workers that would not be able to reach their working place?

@johnribbon I don't think that you can find a lot of better cases for congestion charge or traffic restrictions in the city center, plus all the cycle lanes and better bus lanes that are so needed... but even that is not ambitious enough...

@how @deutrino by installing something like lineageos with just the unified location provider. For signal you have to use the non Google apps version that you can download from their website, the apk version.

Many android apps wont work without google apps. And chrome... why?
