    My high score was four 5-gal buckets full before the rain was too much. Best find was that a neighbor just got an exceptionally large weed delivery recently and somehow the bags got into the street. Definitely came through the mail. Classic vacuum-sealed bags inside a vacuum-sealed bag.

    A block away from home I was combing the sidewalk for more glass shards and I heard someone illegibly repeating themselves from a distance. I thought it was someone trying to get attention of their kids or something. Turns out it was this Latnix father asking me what I'm doing

    him> Hi, what are you doing?

    me> picking up trash, but mostly looking for glass. There's a lot of broken glass around here.

    him> *puzzled* why are you doing this?

    me> I walk my dogs through this neighborhood and there's so much broken glass it's dangerous for them. It's also dangerous for the neighborhood kids.

    him> i picked up glass and put it in that bag with the leaves. i tie it shut so my kids don't get cut playing with the leaves.

    me> yes, I don't want the kids to get hurt either

    him> *puzzled* you do this for free?

    me> yes

    him> there is a lot of trash and glass here

    me> we can solve it, together!

    him> *smiles and waves bye*



    This was not the only encounter of children or adults confused that someone would... pick ... up ... trash

    Spent 1.5 hrs yesterday walking the neighborhood and those adjacent picking up trash, especially collecting glass bottles and sweeping up broken glass on the sidewalks. There's been an increase in broken glass recently and it drives me insane because every dog walk has turned into a game of "direct the dogs around all the menacingly large chunks of booze bottles"

    I don't get what the appeal is of breaking all your bottles. I wish those people would stop cutting through my neighborhood on the way to/from the liquor store
