Weird anecdote of the morning. Sometimes I need to use Windows for work or my kids use it for their game systems. You can be just using the system for normal tasks and the mouse just stops, sits there for 5-10 seconds, and then resumes as if nothing happened. CPU less than 10%, memory 30-40%. No reason for it to stop. I've had this happen on home computers and work computers. It just seems like a Windows thing. No real point to this, just whining about using Windows I guess.

Note to self: When your wife microwaves a coffee cup for 3+ minutes, don't grab it with your bare hands immediately. Also, you're an idiot.

Five years of #Fosstodon seems to have gone by so quickly, and in the time it's been here it's done so much more than @kev and I anticipated. Thank you everybody in the Fosstodon community who have helped make it more than we ever expected it could be!

Just so everybody is aware, there's been a bug in a recent version of Friendica (federated software compatible with Mastodon that exists in the Fediverse) that causes some replies to basically @ everyone in the thread. If you see this, please be courteous about it as the author of that post likely didn't intend to spam everybody.

So, Elon Musk has become a significant shareholder in Twitter. Jack Dorsey has said he regrets his role in centralizing the Internet. Net change? I'm guessing minimal. Twitter will keep sucking, and people will complain about Twitter sucking but use it anyway. OR, they could move to a better alternative like Mastodon. I realize I'm preaching to the choir posting about Mastodon on Mastodon, but still. Tell your friends.
