Performance. On the wall of a two-story old house, at the level of the second floor, hangs an old bed with a white bedspread and a brown, old nightstand. In the bed lies a man reading a book. Info: French performance artist Thierry Mandon creates poetic pieces that teeter on the border between tragedy and comedy. And in the case of the 2015 work Inside-Out, "sway" is the operative word. At the performance, Mandon was lying in bed, precariously suspended from the exterior wall of a row house, one floor above the ground, with a nightstand behind him. "Passersby were very surprised and didn't quite know if what they were seeing was real [or] ... an artistic performance," the whole thing was captured on camera and video camera for posterity.
