A rabbi isn’t a divinely-ordained speaker-for-God whose primary role is leading worship. Traditionally, rabbis are experts in Jewish law, practice, culture, history, etc. A rabbi doesn’t have any sacred/spiritual/magical powers to bless things that any other Jew doesn’t have.
