    Timeline cleanse from the archives:

In 2019, I came across this Hornyphon Diplomat in a Salzburg restaurant. A fine piece of Austrian engineering. Note the names of Austrian & neighboring cities on the faceplate. A little web surfing suggests it was manufactured in 1964. Friedrich Horny started Hornyphon in the 1920s in Vienna. Philips took over Hornyphon in 1934, but continued to market under this label. The Diplomat appears to be a twin to a Philips Symphonie from the same era. #obscura #audiophile #receiver #vintage #Salzburg #Wien #Vienna #Austria #VintageAudio #RadioWien #radio #hornyphon #philips
