Which teams have never played in the world series? As of my last update in January 2022, the following Major League Baseball (MLB) teams had never played in the World Series: 1. Seattle Mariners: Despite having some of baseball's greatest players, like Ken Griffey Jr., Ichiro Suzuki, and Randy Johnson, they have never made it to the World Series since their inception in 1977. 2. Colorado Rockies: Established in 1993, they've reached the playoffs several times, including a notable run in 2007 when they made it to the postseason as a wild card and reached the World Series, but lost to the Boston Red Sox. 3. Tampa Bay Rays: They began as an expansion team in 1998. They made their first World Series appearance in 2008 but lost to the Philadelphia Phillies. They also played in the 2020 World Series but were defeated by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Upon reflection, | realize the Rays have actually played in the World Series, so please disregard them from the list. That was an oversight on my part. Thus, as of January 2022, the Mariners and the Rockies were the only teams that hadn't played in a World Series. However, it's worth noting that circumstances can change, and teams' fortunes can shift. | would recommend checking the latest MLB records or the official website of Major League Baseball to see if there have been any new developments in the subsequent seasons.
