I just realized something about boosts here that I think is important.
On "algoritmized" social media, your "rt" or "like" will feed the algorithm, and then more people will potentially see the post in question — but that's very impersonal. It's mediated by the faceless algorithm.
On fedi, boosts are *personal*. When you see a boosted toot, you also see *who* boosted it into your timeline.
This means that the booster is more aware they are responsible for posts they boost! :blobcatthink:
