    I'm just recovering from #Covid19.

My symptoms were light and sometimes disappearing, just to come back the next day.

Initially I got a negative antigen test so I thought I had "The Flu", and went to work a couple of days later. Without a second test, I wouldn't have realized I was still infectious.

One of my housemate got positive a few days after me.

Many of my coworkers are now sick, and it's not clear who passed it to whom. The supplies of covid tests ran out.

    It's quite a wildfire...

I don't see a spike of cases here in #California:

Is this being under-reported because, like me, many people don't even realize they're infected?

Two new #COVID19 variants are gaining ground worldwide, replacing the previous Omicron variants:

@globalc Yes, I just saw that the new variants are just starting to appear now in Japan... and there's another big wave of infections... will it be bigger than the previous one?

@codewiz Best wishes.. I'm in Germany right now, many people I meet here already had it - in Japan that's quite different.

The new variants are called 22E.Omicron (aka BQ.1) and 22F Omicron (aka XBB).

Before someone wrongly concludes that these variants give lighter symptoms and are therefore less dangerous: I was fully vaccinated, including a second shot of the booster updated for the BA.4 & BA.5 variants one month ago.

Perhaps BQ.1 and XBB are less lethal, perhaps not... I have no idea at this point. We'll see from the data in a few weeks.

Meanwhile, please take precautions and avoid Christmas parties with your loved ones if you have any #COVID19 symptoms, no matter how light.

@living8bit Didn't know libraries have them!

The other day I wanted a PCR test for confirmation, but all pharmacies around here do sample collection at the drive-through. Two of them turned me away because I was riding a bicycle.

I guess I'm eccentric for not driving in #LosAngeles?

For Covid tests, I'm presuming you already did the USPS option? Also, my library is handing them out for free, maybe yours too? Finally, my health provider has been providing free tests to members (4/mn). Just some ideas if you didn't already exhaust.
