     @cstross I had the idea of a story that started as microfiction, but the reader could click on certain highlighted passages, and they would expand to include more detail. It would be relatively easy to implement as a web page, but would anyone actually want to read that way?

     It is easy to make any story longer, the real challenge is doing so without making it flabby.
