     @torproject Why on earth would the Tor project do this on Facebook owned proprietary app, where the only privacy you can be sure of, because nobody can vet the code, is Facebook giving you their word they haven't backdoored the encryption?

     Whatsapp is permitted to be used in countries where end to end encryption is banned by law, because Facebook the company and governments routinely work together.
