Thousands in İstanbul celebrated the antiauthoritarian New Years, Newroz, with a main slogan of "Newroz everywhere, freedom at all times",
with a speech proclaiming e.g. "We will fight together to achieve a democratic and peaceful solution to the Kurdish question, to ensure the freedom of peoples, to build a democratic country, to achieve social justice, and to stop unemployment and exploitation.
