- the final name likely Threads
- Instagram users can automatically transfer over
- celebrities Dalai Lama, DJ Slime, and Oprah, have committed
- will use ActivityPub
- not guaranteed to be interoperable with Mastodon
- easy for Mastodon accounts to migrate to Threads, but not Threads/Insta users to Mastodon
