  The Vaccination Guidelines Group of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association is launching a project to enhance understanding of infectious diseases and vaccination practices in Sub-Saharan Africa. This four-year initiative aims to provide guidance for veterinarians in the region, building on the success of similar projects in Asia and Latin America. The project includes research on infectious diseases, vaccination practices, and education in the region, with visits to South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, and Ghana. The ultimate goal is to produce Regional Vaccination Guidelines for Sub-Saharan Africa, ensuring optimal vaccination practice and supporting the welfare of companion animals in the region.
